Grief especially of parents is such a complicated thing. Like you I had to almost rediscover my dad as a man rather than a parent to heal a lot of my childhood hurts and accept him and his flaws fully. I don't think our relationships ever really end because they change so much as our understanding does... of ourselves as well as them. x
