I love that you have chosen to reframe having a chronic illness as a tool for being more deliberate and conscious in how you use your energy. Often we feel a pressure of expectation to be involved in the world in ways that don't always suit our individual temperament and there is genuine discomfort in how to balance our needs versus those expectations. In sharing your experience with MS you invite us to reflect on and question the choices we are making and where our priorities lie. You also asks the very interesting question which we should all reflect on... what does it say about modern life that having a chronic illness has been the key to finding this permission and ease with saying no?
