This is an insightful personal essay that acts as an important reminder to readers to reflect on the beliefs and opinions they hold about themselves, especially when they are based in childhood experiences. This is a piece that many readers will identify with, especially on the subject of Maths, but whether from the influence of a teacher, a struggle with undiagnosed neurodivergence or as a result of childhood trauma, you demonstrates how easily we form negative images of ourselves and how liberating it can be to challenge and overcome them. I think this is a piece that will inspire others and hopefully act as a catalyst for real change. Thank you Helen.
