This innovation scares me in a number of ways. If white people programming artificial intelligence technology can’t even distinguish between black faces or can’t interpret expressions and emotions on black faces, how are they ever going to be able to correctly interpret our emotions or make a fair and objective assessment of the level of engagement of black and brown employees? It seems that this would add another level of systemic racism into an already jam-packed forest of micro and macro aggressions.
